As a journalist, I received hundreds of press releases every week and I won't lie to you, many of them go straight in my trash can.

Writers are busy people too and they don't always care about your new service or the latest product. 

Being on the receiving end means I know what journalists are looking for and how to hook their attention. I've also got a wealth of contacts in the industry and know who is best to target.

Press releases are powerful tools and if you can reach the right people with the right message then you'll be laughing because that level of exposure is basically free advertising.

But writers will be quick to tell you that too, so your content needs to be quirky, unexpected or have a creative twist.
